Friendship day, why it seems so special? Simply because it brings lot of smiles on our faces when we recount the most cherished moments spent with our friends and look forward to making new friends. Why to wait for celebrating the happiness that we got from those beautiful relations, when each moment and each single day can be a friendship day?
"Dosti" - ek khoobsoorat lamha, ek khoobsoorat ehsaas...
Friendship is such a beautiful bond, if lived in true terms; it is free of conventions, caste, age, religion, status. In this modern era, friendship has been losing its charm with friends made only out of 'purpose' or 'peer pressure'. This ultimately leads to broken hearts and trust, loss of self-esteem. But aren't we ourselves the reason behind such false relations? Why not begin every relation on a beautiful note of honesty and trust and unconditional love? Why to wait for getting into false relations and then crying and waiting for someone to pep us again and rekindle the spark of beautiful friendship.
Let me dedicate this note to a dearest friend of mine "Manisha". I've not met her since last 12 years and don't know about her whereabouts but even a single thought of her brings smiles on my face. The beauty of the relationship lied in the smallest of the things. Let me share them with you all and take you to your lovely moments spent with your friends.
- Her giving me rides on her little bicycle and at times her huffing n puffing!.
- Her sharing of books with me when I used to forget bringing mine or couldn't afford!
- Those pillow fights when she didn't come out of bed while I used to wait for her to play in the park with me.
- Her inspirational words whenever I used to feel low just because I scored less marks in Maths and her constant inspiration made me top the maths exam.
- Her teary eyes and soothing words that she conveyed to me through letters on knowing about my house's devastation in the flood.
- Our first crush on the 'same' boy when we were in 5th standard :) See how much we shared :)
- Her calling me from the other side of the road by just recognizing me from my eyes after a long gap of 5 years and that too in some other city where we never expected to meet.
- Her making DEALS and ensuring that she breaks the refill of my pen when I lost her pencil. [I hope she remembers this one ;)]!
- Her teaching me as an expert. I loved her debates in the school on various subjects!
- Her calling me names all the times and no wonder they were so very weird but I loved those and she used to proudly call herself ‘captain’ :)
We've not met each other for so many years, schools got over and our ways departed and then I lost her address and she moved to some other place. But I still cherish those beautiful small fights we used to have with each other; I enjoy thinking about having golgappas on the roadside walking hands-in-hands, eating goodies from famous 'Dadi ma Bakers' in her locality and her being there whenever I needed her, her being happier than me whenever I got any award. This is the beauty of true friendship, it lives with you, it lives with you forever..
Cherish all such friends in your life and make each day a friendship day.. :)
