Laga Chunri mein Daag......[Movie]

[Entirely my personal views]

Did the director of the movie ‘Laga Chunri mein Daag’ really know the meaning of 'feminism'? The movie begins with the tag line 'Journey of a woman' and sadistically, ends up merely focusing on the extreme step a woman will take in her life despite all her odds. The theme was good and could have been really used as an encouragement or for talking about the true journey every single woman goes through.

The movie reflects a hedonistic and conservative view of seeing a woman. It clearly fails to show the true face and true struggle a woman [especially an Indian woman] goes through.

Although director has tried to bring out the other knowledgeable aspect of Indian women by personifying Konkana sen as a management trainee, who is successful in getting a good job based on her creative insights and logical thinking. That is a beautiful part but the irony and the major contradiction comes in forefront when the Rani Mukherjee who's being literally 'suggested' by a close friend to use the males by being an 'escort' [the high profile call girl]. It is a bitter reality in today’s world in some cases, no doubt, but the whole point here is that this movie tries to revolve around showing a woman merely as a 'poor creature', who either has to live on the pity of others or has to sell herself to prove that 'she is no less than the males!'.

The whole concept of showing the journey of a woman seems to have failed here and the movie has just come out like any other money making flick with lot of 'masala' in it.

I pity on such directors and such actors as well who take up such roles that contradict their own true self! How many women will ‘actually’ suggest the other women to be an ‘escort’ rather than trying out other options!!

Wouldn't know since I did not see the movie. But unlike what the media says not all women are forced in to such a position, some just see it as a easy earning. That may sound male chuvinist , but it is a fact.

Well im not convinced with the ending, especailly i didn't even though that Abhishek will be a supporting actor..nevertheless the complete makeover or Rani and her character on title song is very well picturized.

I saw the movie. It does not seem like a
Yashraj production. Something is odd about the movie. Either, its the story or ?????. The actors gave their best shot, because they were all good players. Otherwise, nothing great about this movie.
